Many artists take the same sleeping newborn in a teal knit hat and let its pink and lilac tones, and the adult hand resting beside it, come out differently each time. Some keep the photo's warm skin and soft light, while others flatten the blankets into loose pastel washes and leave the background as dark streaks.
