Many artists take on the same theme of a single realistic eye framed by a brow, from a soft grayscale study with fine lashes to loose, quick sketches with heavy eyeliner. The works mostly use graphite or pencil, with shading that ranges from smooth tonal gradients to scribbled hatching on the brows and lids.
