Lion face made of striped lines, black and white ink drawing

About this artwork

Dense curving stripes swell outward from the center to form a lion's broad nose, heavy brow and calm, direct eyes, so the face seems to emerge from its own mane. Drawn with fine black ink lines on white paper, each band tapered to leave thin white gaps that give the whole face a rhythmic, woven texture.
