Woman with long dark hair in an oval frame, pencil sketch

About this artwork

A pale, solemn face peers out from a curtain of long black hair, while a hand reaches toward a dark thread-like line at the frame's edge. Hatched pencil strokes build the hair into deep shadow, contrasting with the open, clean lines of the face and the ornate scrolled frame.
