Northern cardinal on a holly branch, colored pencil drawing

About this artwork

The cardinal puffs up its round red body and lifts its crest, glancing sideways from its black mask at the berries nearby. Soft colored-pencil layers build the feathers, with dark strokes marking the wing edges and holly leaves.
