Hercules beetle drawing, colored pencil and ink

About this artwork

Two long horns rise from the head of this Hercules beetle, drawn with its legs splayed out across the page as if it is climbing toward the viewer. The black ink outlines are crisp and tapered, while speckled blue-violet colored pencil fills the wing cases and gives the shell a soft metallic sheen.
