Kingfisher bird drawing, black and white pencil

About this artwork

A kingfisher with a long dagger bill perches on a rock, its head turned sharply to the left and its eye glinting with a white highlight. Layered scalloped feathers are built up with soft grey shading and crisp dark contour lines, with pale clouds drawn around it for contrast.
